Weldon, CA – Once a month from Fall through Spring, volunteers from around the community gather to help on a project at the Audubon Kern River Preserve. Join staff and friends on Saturday, November 20 from 8 a.m. to noon for a weekend volunteer day. This month's project is to do some renovation on the main nature trail on the preserve and to collect seeds from shrubs and perennials around the preserve.

In spring, we will plant many of these seeds on our restoration sites around the preserve.

Bring gloves, wear long sleeves and pants, sturdy shoes/boots and safety glasses if you have them. The preserve will supply the tools. Meet at 7:55 a.m. at the headquarters of the Kern River Preserve: 18747 Highway 178, Weldon, CA. Contact the Kern River Preserve land steward, Sean Rowe or call 760-417-1149 to RSVP.
