River Preserve Headquarters – 18747 Hwy 178
7:00 a.m. -
Dawn chorus hike on the farm road nature trail.
9:00 a.m. –
Gather at HQ for coffee, tea, juice and breakfast snacks.
Then a Crisp Morning Walk on the nature trail to see the
changes caused by the December 2010 and spring 2011 floods. Check out late season
birds and butterflies.
12 p.m. -
Lunch at the Sprague Ranch House located at 7901 Fay Ranch
Road - We will provide a hearty lunch and a chance for
members to chat.
1 p.m. to
3:30 p.m. - An Insider's Look at our education, land
protection, management, monitoring, outreach, research,
restoration work and accomplishments at Kern River Preserve
during 2011. Also visit our upland restoration project and
our future Audubon Center site.
No host
dinner at local eatery.
